The Humana Foundation
The Humana Foundation supports charitable activities that encourage decisions promoting healthy lives and healthy communities in locations where the company has a meaningful presence, with emphasis on Louisville, KY. (A list of eligible communities is available on the Foundation's website.) The Foundation focuses its funding priorities on the interrelationship among: mind -- educational institutions that promote academic achievement and improvement in education; body -- human service agencies engaged in the promotion of healthy bodies and healthy lifestyles; and spirit -- civic and cultural development organizations that seek to inspire communities and enliven the spirit. Proposals from Louisville, KY organizations are accepted from November 1, 2008, through January 15, 2009. Proposals from organizations located in other communities are accepted from November 1, 2008, through June 15, 2009. Detailed application guidelines are available on the Foundation's website.
